Busta announced the date alongside an Instagram video showing Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey, J Dilla’s mother, listening to one of the album’s tracks. The clip was dated March 7, 2026, and gives the rollout a more intimate dimension than a standard release-date post. This is not merely a veteran rapper attaching a legendary producer’s name to a new project; Dilla’s family has already been shown engaging with the music.

That matters because J Dilla’s catalog is not an empty aesthetic. His production silhouette has been copied, sampled, imitated, and flattened into shorthand for “respectable” underground hip-hop.
